Many people around the Wheat Ridge and Denver community have asked about their insurance coverage and chiropractic care. It is obviously a very complex question and differs from person to person based on their insurance plan. It is important to know that most insurance will cover chiropractic care, that is if your chiropractor is in-network with the insurance company. Some chiropractors do not take insurance and are out-of-network but will provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance. Out-of-network benefits typically have higher deductibles and copays, depending on the plan.
People pay good money for their health insurance and that is why Dr. Williams and Core Family Chiropractic are in-network with most major insurance companies, including being a participating provider with Medicare. Many people have Health Savings Accounts (HSA) or Flex Accounts from their employer’s insurance that is typically combined with a high deductible. We accept HSA or FSA and it can cover any copays or deductibles. We have staff at our office who can verify your insurance benefits before your visit to our office. We will also submit any paperwork necessary on your behalf.
Besides traditional health insurance, there is also an option, called MedPay, on your car insurance that will cover your chiropractic care. This covers chiropractic care along with other medical, dental, or emergency services following an automobile accident. In Colorado, most people have this option on their car insurance, unless they signed a waiver opting out of the coverage. MedPay provides $5,000 worth of coverage for each individual in the car so people can get the care they need after experiencing whiplash in an accident. It is a great service provided by your auto insurance because it can provide you the care you need and it does not take into account who is at-fault. Whiplash can occur in even minor accidents and symptoms may not arise until well after the accident, so it is important to get a check up after an car collision.
